Graduation Night 08

EXAMS ARE OVER, THANK GOD!

Exams were from the 13th of October to the 24th of October. TWO LONG EXCRUCIATING WEEKS.

Graduation night took place on the 17th of October.

HAH! Do you see the problem that lies within those dates? NO?

Okay, I know it's not MY graduation night but they put a Janna into The Crew and that marked my Armageddon with Time.

Noticed the problem? Graduation night was sandwiched in the middle of our Form 4 final exams as the deliciously tender Kobe beef and garnish between crummy buns.

I tell you, if I put all the preparations for that night of approximately two hours of pure ecstasy into one huge bag, tie it to my neck and take a swim in the pool, I'd hit rock bottom in a split second.

We had SO MUCH to do.

THEME: ICE WORLD
[and to think we're in an adverse part of the world, Malaysia where ambiance is naturally warm to hot.]

1. Handmade invitation cards.

Here's my cut. 97 cards.

97 cards meant 97 snowflakes to cut as well...

...and we had to make about 250 altogether.

2. Souvenirs

To do this, we had to first coil the wire to form 3 curls in the middle. Then twine the butterfly around the wire. Then use the white tape to cover the twines. Then add the crepe paper at the back with more white tape. We had to make about 250 of that too.

3. Mahjong paper icy bricks

The 'mahjong' papered walls behind Kai Teng and May Jet.

We had to paint ice bricks on 60+ sheets of 'mahjong' paper to stick on the four pillars in the hall.

4. Mr. Snowman

That's our very retarded snowman. I didn't do much for snowman. Slapped slabs of cotton on that rotund body and that's about it.
5. Mini trees

We picked up these dead branches from our school field and decorated them with cotton balls and bits. I didn't do much of these either but I did the finishing touches like adding glitter and twining butterflies around them.

6. Table setting

Right in the middle, we lit a candle placed on a little plate. We then placed twigs around the plate to resemble a warm mini open fire.

7. The entrance

-picture unavailable-
Unfortunately, I haven't got a good picture of it. Everyone thought of taking pictures of the entrance only after an avalanche[parts of it came tumbling down etc].

The entrance was decorated with polystyrene bricks; painted the shades of light blue to make the entrance look like an icy igloo along with snowflakes, tons of cotton, those mini trees and strewn with artificial snow.

8. Artificial Snow

Our artificial snow was actually bits of polystyrene as well as crunched up paper in cellophane tape. Imagine the work in this [Break Baby, Break! Crunch Baby, Crunch!]

9. Angel wings

For the crew only - altogether about 20 of us. We had to wear these pathetic wings of cardboard, 'mahjong' paper, cotton and glitter. [Should have clipped Cupid's wings for good and kept them.]

10. Snowflakes

Unfortunately this is the best picture I can find with the snowflakes. Look closely, you'd be able to spot two snowflakes. :D

We had polystyrene snowflakes completely covered in glitter. With thread of different lengths, we hung snowflakes from the ceiling. Absolutely pretty.

Anyway, that's most of what we've done.
The night was pretty good.
Performances were pretty good.
Grad queen was interesting.

From left: First runner-up, Grad Queen, Second runner-up

Fun, I shalt have before I go back to cramming and crapping for the rest of the exams. Now to brave the crummy and crappy results.
