The Big Bang

As I looked at it, here comes supposedly a mundane Monday.

My siblings were out the whole day with friends while I stayed home stuffing myself with gingerbread men, watching some show.

What's worse was when I received a reminder that I had tuition on for the night.

I frowned.

My brother obviously had to chauffeur me to tuition but he too had to send his friend home. Since we were early, he decided to send his friend first.

On the way to her house I looked at the window, taking in the flitter and glitter of raindrops in night lights and suddenly...

*BANG*

My right side of the body crashed the front seat. [because I was looking at the window, body at a near half-turn]

Disoriented, everything paused for a moment. Dumbfounded and motionless, I felt my heart pound hard and fast. The first thing I did after hitting reality was feel my jaw to look for signs of dislocation; but I felt an even but painful right. I checked the condition of the car - NOT NICE, not surprised. I checked the condition of the other car, a gargantuan compared to the Savvy, a HILUX. Not BAD but not good either . The driver of the Hilux got down, looked at his baby's butt, looked at our curvy Savvy, looked around and got to know us.

Brother: I'm dead.
*pause*
Friend: What just happened?
*pause*
Brother: Shit.
*pause*
ME: Get down from the car and talk to the guy.
*brother gets out*
ME [almost inaudible]: Oh my...heck.
*my eyes wide open* [okaylah, I know my eyes are small but I somehow widened them okay?]
ME: So busted.
*almost motionless*
ME: What the heck just happened?
Friend: He was quite close to the car then he braked but it was too late.
*Janna says zilch, eyes still wide open, heart pumping superduper fast...[I need to take in oxygen to connect and opened my mouth to hasten the process. LOL]*
ME: This is bad.
*pause*
ME: But he wasn't speeding.
Friend: He was quite close to the car.
ME: What the heck...
Friend: I thought I was gonna die.
ME: I didn't even see what happened.
*pause*
ME: Suddenly I go crashing into the front seat and my jaw freaking hurts. Heck, what just happened?
*pause*
Friend: Is the car okay?
ME: Hoho, the car is definitely not okay. And my brother won't be okay either.
*pause*
ME: This is so scary. Oh my gosh. Scare the hell out of me. *takes in air with a gulp*

Friend goes out to check on the car, I followed.
*brother phones mom and dad*
I looked at the car, scared like crap because it looked like scrap.

Scrap metal/car:

A lost cause.

Sullied Savvy.

And when Japhia heard about the accident, guess what she said.
"Awww, I cannot go out so often anymore."
:S

The Hilux which was very much intact.

The one circled in white is part of the Savvy's bumper. LOL.
Apparently the Savvy went under the Hilux, how can it not?

Thoughts at that moment:
1. I bet if I sat in front, I would have screamed and cried.
2. Maybe it isn't a bad idea getting my license later after all...much later.
3. If I were sitting in the middle instead of the lefthand corner of the backseat, I would have crashed the windscreen and made my frost mark in tempered glass.
4. Normally I'd sit in the middle but the thing about me is that I like to even up in vehicles so since my brother is heavy and the girl is light, I sat behind the girl.
5. YES! I'M GOING TO MISS TUITION! WOOHOOO! WEEEE! Oh shoot, I'm going to miss tuition.
6. Scaredscaredscaredscaredscared.
7. What if I died?

Yesterday morning I woke up with an aching right shoulder, hand and jaw. For this I can truly say "It's all right!"

The good news is: I'M ALIVE! :D

Which Craft?

Somehow this holidays, I've been getting in touch with my 'creative' crafty side.

I made this carriage with a little help from Sabrina, Yung Yao, Priscilla, Rachel and Uncle Tim for the children church's fun camp.
The theme was 'King and I'.
Click on the carriage for a clearer view.
Psst. I love those swirly wheels.

I wanted to thank a few people in my life.

So I made thank you cards.

A flower made of wire and crepe paper.
Lesson learnt from this project: wire is too thick for more flexible and fluid lines.

Paper cut background with corrugated cardboard wings and ribbon.

Tri-medium butterfly

Now, some Christmas cards.

Glitter glue snowflake.

Paper cut snowflake with a touch of glitter.

Ribbons, buttoned gingerbreadman, hanging on to a little present.

Okay, not very pretty but I kinda like the idea of it. Coming up next, maybe gingerbreadman on a hangman's noose.

A reindeer with christmas decoration on it's antlers.
It's a save the trees project.

Lastly, the children church's attendance chart.

Empty spaces between train tracks are to record the number of kids for the first week, second and so on.

Yes, they are supposed to be trains. :P

Merry Christmas

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!

For a starter, I'll bring you to a Christmas Eve cavort.

Our youth had an 80s christmas party.

The flashing multicoloured DISCO BALL. :D

I think they did a good job creating the nostalgic feel of an 80s lounge.

It was pretty fun.

The food. The challenges. The singing. The food. The ambience. The fellowship. The food.

Best dressed male and female replicating the 80s would win an Ipod Shuffle each.
Best dressed male: Joses Khoo
Best dressed female: Hao Yi

From left: Sabrina, ME, Jonan [my brother], Deva and Desmond

From left: Nicolas, Japhia, Sabrina and ME

My sister, Japhia and I

Carynne, ME and Kevin

Sabrina and I.

Okay, I know some of you might say my dress does not look eighties
BUT
MY MOMMY SAYS IT'S EIGHTIES.
[she was there during the 80s okay? SHE KNOWS.]
She says it is, so it is.
The little black dress was big in the 80s because there was a recession and the one item that's never out of fashion and can be recycled by adding trimmings to it is the little black dress. So happens mine is the slightly more unique little brown dress of that era.
:D

ME and Ah Pak Desmond.

ME and Devaraj.
[Deva, where's the chest hair?]

Nicolas, Joses, ME and Sabrina.

CHRISTMAS DAY. :D

This is my 'almost-Santa-Rina' outfit.

Ready to go to church and late too...

The place was crowded.
Service was good.

Japhia and I.

Sabrina and I.

No, my Christmas was not perfect as you can see.

Japhia loves picking on me.
And the last time I checked, I was the older sister.

"She will pay. RAWR."

Okay, I'm lame. :S

But I enjoyed myself today.
=)

The only sad thing about Christmas is that:
1. You become dead broke, bankrupt and may have to beg for a living till the next allowance.
2. You grow. Sideways mostly and it leads to the expansion of the middle kingdom.

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL
and
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, JESUS.
*hugs*

My Only Wish

Janna's 2008 Version of 'My Only Wish' by Britney Spears

Oh yeah yeah...
Last night I took a walk in Jusco,
Went to Fotokem and I was like 'whoa!',
Canon DSLRs, Sony, Nikon
Daddy can you hear me?
I signed my letter that I sealed with a kiss,
I sent it off, it just said this:
"I know exactly what I want this year"
Daddy can you hear me?
I want a DSLR,
Wanna take millions of pictures, wherever I go,
Maybe maybe,
It'll be all my own in a big red bow
Daddy can you hear me?
I have been so good this year
And all I want is one thing,
Tell me the camera is here
It's all I want, just for me
Underneath my christmas tree
I'll be waiting here
Daddy that's my only wish this year

Yeahh...
Christmas eve, I just can't sleep
Cause I've been praying for the whole week
Are you coming with my DSLR?
Daddy can you hear me?
I really hope that it's on its way
If possible, please come today
Oh please make my wish come true,
Daddy can you hear me?
I want a DSLR
Wanna take millions of pictures, wherever I go
DSLR
Oh dear dad, please don't say 'No'.
Daddy can you hear me?
I have been so good this year,
All I want is one thing
Tell me my camera is here
It's all I want, just for me
Underneath my christmas tree
I'll be waiting here
Daddy that's my only wish this year

I hope God tells you that I need it, (oh yeah)
I'm sure He thinks that I do deserve it (oh yeah)
'cause I have been so good this year, (oh oh)
Dear daddy, please don't say 'No'.
It's all I want in a big red bow.

Daddy can you hear me?
I have been so good this year
And all I want is one thing
Tell me my camera is near
It's all I want, just for me
Underneath my christmas tree
I'll be waiting here,
Daddy that's my only wish this year
Ahh ahh ahh
Oh daddy, can you hear me?
Oh daddy, well it's all I want
Just for me, underneath my christmas tree
I'll be waiting here,
Daddy that's my only wish this year
Daddy that's my only wish this year.

This is what I would like to see on Christmas day this year. :D

Okay, now about camp. This year's theme was Heart.
Simple, short and sweet.
I was able to identify with this year's theme best.
The condition of the heart....
Something I bet, relates to everyone.
So I'm glad they zoomed in Heart this year.
Certainly made me reflect and regenerate.

The UPs about HUGE this year:

1. Worship sessions

2. The powerful messages by Ps. Clement Wong and Ps. Jay Mooney

3. God's presence

4. The company

My cousin, Andrea and I.

It was awesome just being able to hang out and catch up with her. Love her to bits. :)

My other cousin, Kennard.

From left: Jonathan, Sabrina, ME, Kennard and Shawn

I don't think I would have enjoyed camp as much as I did if it weren't for all of them.

So thanks loads to the chatterbox, the cousins, the childhood buddy and the new found friends.
:)

5. Fear factor

The Champ.

6. Jump! jump!

Inflatable room at the Kids' Club.
God knows how the name 'jump jump' came about.
LOL.

Sabrina plans to star in Madagascar 3.
I believe she can make it.
Probably the hippo's cousin or something?

Jonathan and Shawn posing their *cough* sexiest *cough*.
Total failure.
Tsk tsk tsk.

Jonathan with his Sony A350.
*green eyes*

The jumpjump...jumpers?

The DOWNs, only one BIG nightmare

There were 20 cds to be given away
and in order to determine who walks away with a free cd,
Ps. Clement threw 20 frogs at the crowd.
Whoever catches the frog, gets the cd.
I hate frogs.
I loathe frogs.
because I fear frogs.
So yes, I immediately ran all the way to the back.
BUT I still got a cd.
Because Ps. Michael gave one to me. :)
Thanks.
According to the winners, the frogs were easy to locate and capture; everywhere you see a ring of girls and some guys as well screaming, the frog is in the middle.

Got this shot at one of the rest areas on the way back to Ipoh.
The moonlight beaming through foliage.

TO MY DEAR FATHER.
Dad, look! I bet you couldn't really tell it was the moonlight beaming through foliage.
You know why?
Because it's not clear enough.
DSLRDSLRDSLR please? :D
I may have to take up hypnotism.

PS: THANK YOU JONATHAN FOR THE PICTURES. :)
