Allies In Wonderland

This is my sister:

 Her name is Japhia.

 Occasionally, we dress alike.

And when I make ugly faces, we look alike too. :P

Alright, alright, I'm kidding.

 Often, she annoys me.

And lately, I've learnt the art of RETALIATION!

BUT
it's never a wise thing to do.

NEVER.

There's something I think everyone needs to know about her though...
SHE. IS. ENTIRELY. BONKERS.

Well actually...

SO. AM. I.

But I'll tell you a secret.

All the best people are.

The Dreaded Driver

I was trained in a bumper car at a tender young age; carefree collision is the essence of the ride.
In three lessons, I've to unlearn all the fun stuff.

I shall pray for a miracle, practice positive thinking, and apply the principles of driving diligently because...

1. For the first three hours of driving itself, my engine died at least 10 times.

2. I had a beautiful, LARGE collection of pronounced phrases like "Your turning, very bad", "Your clutch control, no good" and "BRAKE! BRAKE! REMEMBER TO BRAKE!".

3. I tried to start the car....when it had already been started.

4. I made my instructor go, "DON'T STOP DON'T STOP. GO GO GO! GREEN LIGHT WHY YOU STOP?"

5. I tried to park the car with my hand brake pulled up.

6. This happened:

I was driving on the road with my instructor next to me.
Suddenly, I heard someone horn at me; a resonant long and loud "BEEEEEEEEEP!".
I thought it was rude and distracting.
WHO WOULD BE SO INCONSIDERATE AND MEAN TO HORN AT AN L LICENSE DRIVER?
At that moment, I was utterly mad.
*checks rearview mirror*
A while later, another horn came - this time, relentlessly longer and ruthlessly louder.
HAVE MERCY WILL YA?! I'M ONLY AN L LICENSE DRIVER, DARN IT! I thought.
Stupid, heartless drivers really made me mad.
*checks rearview mirror once more to identify culprit*

Then my instructor turned to me and asked, "Why you horn for?"

When I told him I didn't know I was the one horning all along...nor am I familiar with the horn,
HE LAUGHED AT ME ALMOST THROUGHOUT THE WHOLE JOURNEY BACK.
He called me goofy. Sheesh.

That's it. I shall abstain from telling you ALL my driving mishaps.

So, anyone wanna buy me this sign? :D

CNY: The 'F' Factor

The first thing that barges into my mind when anyone mentions Chinese New Year is

FOOD

"Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food."
~ Hippocrates

And it gets better.

JUNK FOOD.
Bliss.

WARNING: Don't you DARE mention weightgain OR I'LL POUND YOUR FACE IN.
*angelic smile*

Of course, what joy is there in eating if there's no one to eat with?

FAMILY!

 Especiallypickycousinsandbracefacedsisters.
:D

Cousin: What's this?
Me: Abalone.
Cousin: Eee, I don't want it. Do you?
Me: Heck yea!
Bracefaced Sister: Darn...I can't bite it.
Me: *smiles*

If it's not food that comes to your mind, then it's got to be the

FIRECRACKERS/FIREWORKS

You just have to love it!

Reminds me of the one time when we were at a family fireworks bonanza.
We had bagsful of fireworks/crackers piled on a chair.
The prelude started off with sparklers.
One amazing sparkler managed to wriggle free from my cousin's clinches and found its way back to where it came from - I'm guessing, for reunion - its pack of 12.
Thus, the inevitable...

White chair turned ash black!

Good old days. :)

Last but NEVER least, the

FELLOWSHIP

[Dear cousin Leonard's birthday on Valentine's Day]

Dad's foot, gladly ruining the picture.

Not just fellowship with family, but also

FRIENDS

Okay fine, I didn't go for the gathering in the picture above..because I left with my other cousins to Singapore.

Feltsoleftout.

But thanks to John Sung, I was photoshopped in SUPERBLY dressed andslightly'midgeted'! HAH!

So yes, I'm going to pretend that I went.
It was fun. I thoroughly enjoyed myself. :P

Everything about Chinese New Year is awesome

EXCEPT

 the weather.

I showered four times a day and still felt I needed more.

Reunions and Farewells

The decided destination for Chinese New Year was the Wong's residence. We set off on the 11th of February for an early and longer reunion.

Day one of Chinese New Year fell on Valentines Day - 14th of February.
[Note: Happy Wedding Anniversary Elijah and Angela.]

Reunion dinner was on the 13th of February.

Sleepover at Clement and Esther's place was on the 12th of February. :)

Because Clement was set to leave for Sydney a few days after, a sleepover was a MUST, a NECESSITY.

Before we headed to Clement's place, we hung around Johanan's, talking, eating, getting-to-know, eating more...WHILE THREE PAIRS OF MALE HANDS WERE BUSY BANGING ONE COMPUTER KEYBOARD.

*bows head, folds two thumbs and eight deprived fingers*
I took several moments to grief for the poor, physically abused keyboard.

Moving on.

Yes, they were playing some 2D game where you move right or left, jump up and down and shoot to eliminate your opponents. Oh THE JOY! So much fun!

When they finally LOST *grins* Clement drove us to his place.

Things we did:

1. Watch a Korean movie - 100 Days with Mr. Arrogant.

2. Chatter away and had dinner.

3. Clement and I snapped up the DSLR whilemybrotherandJohananwerebusywiththepianoandEstherwiththecomputer.

3. Played 'Heart Attack'.

4. Played some board game that tested your Bible Knowledge.

5. Played 'Random Facts'.

6. Got to know Bryan, Clement and Esther's youngest brother.

7. Played 'Truth or Dare'.

8. Played 'I've never'.

9. Slept one after the other.

10. Woke up looking like...

Exhibit A: Esther
[Note: Happy birthday Esther!]

Exhibit B: Johanan

10. Had breakfast.

11. Played UNO cards.

12. Watched half a movie - Head Over Heels.

End of sleepover. :(
